Why see Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova?

Together once again

In celebration of the 15th anniversary of the Oscar-winning indie-megahit Once, Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova reunite for a run of special dates this summer following a short tour in 2022 that saw the duo play together for the first time in a decade. Revisiting songs from Once with their band The Swell Season, expect a thoroughly nostalgic and enchanting experience from the pair as these consummate musicians and performers once again capture lighting in a bottle together.

An understated romantic musical, Once starred Hansard and Irglova as two musicians who find a connection on the streets of Dublin. Written by John Carney (Sing Street), the film, and the central performances became a surprise hit, winning an Academy Award in 2007 for Best Original Song for theme 'Falling Slowly'. In 2012, a stage adaptation by Enda Walsh opened on Broadway, taking home eight Tony Awards. It's a testament to Hansard and Irglova and their score as The Swell Season, that the show and movie have both safely become modern classics.

Concert was absolutely incredible. As a fan of Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova, and having followed their music over the years - it was heaven on earth getting to see them together in concert. Like a dream. They did songs we all know and LOVE, and only performed a few new songs that were FABULOUS. Hearing Marketa perform 'If You Want Me' was jaw dropping. Hearing Glen sing "Leave", wow... just wow. The heart and soul they put into this concert was unreal. Absolutely one of the best concerts of my life. Life changing. ... Read more

Great show

Second time seeing Glen and first with Marketa. They brought it. A great mix of old and new but energetic, and passionate throughout. Even my 16 year-old loved it. A great experience. ... Read more
