Gladys Knight has never been pigeonholed by her early Motown years. With her backing band The Pips she was one of the label's brightest stars in the late sixties, recording, amongst others, the original version of I Heard it through the Grapevine. She isn't nicknamed 'The Empress of Soul' for nothing. Since then, however, she's dabbled in jazz, R'n'B, and gospel, and secured her place in the annals of movie history with the theme from 1989's Bond film License to Kill.

When it comes to Motown legends, it doesn't get any bigger or any better than multi-platinum selling artists The Four Tops & The Temptations! Hitting the stage with their high energy pop and funk from the 70's and 80's, these musical greats perform classic Motown hits from their repertoire. Despite only one founding member in each band still surviving, the two bands more than hold their own against their predecessors and have enjoyed warm welcomes on their world tour.

The Indigo Girls have steadfastly forged their own path through the music world for over two decades, and they don't show any sign of slowing down just yet. The duo of Amy Ray and Emily Saliers have now released 16 albums of breezy and lyrically adroit folk-rock, first emerging in the late 1980s alongside fellow Georgians R.E.M.

When going through the list of the greatest R&B and funk frontmen of all time, Charlie Wilson will always lead the pack. The charismatic crooner rose to prominence fronting The Gap Band in the 70s and 80s, before embarking on a stellar solo career, releasing hits like There Goes My Baby, Yearning For Your Love and Burn Rubber throughout. Start the new year in style as the living legend hits the road on tour.
