Why see Diana Krall?

Diana Krall's 2026 tour!

Grammy-award-winning Canadian jazz singer-songwriter and piano extraordinaire, Diana Krall is embarking on another tour across North America in 2026. Expect to hear tunes from her latest release, 2020's This Dream Of You alongside hits from her multimillion-selling three-decade career in the limelight.

A Modern Music Icon

With her pre-bop piano style, cool and sensual singing, and gorgeously photogenic looks, Krall took the jazz world by storm in the late 1990s with the release of her first studio album, Stepping Out, in 1993. Her third album, All for You: A Dedication to the Nat King Cole Trio (1996), helped show off her singer-pianist roots and earned her a Grammy nomination and several prime Billboard positions, cementing her name as one of top popular Jazz artists around.

Born into a musical family, Diana Krall began learning to play the piano at the tender age of four and performed with a jazz group during her High School years, as well as performing solo at local restaurants. Her perseverance paid off - upon graduating high school, she was awarded a Scholarship to study music at the esteemed Berklee College of Music. Her time there was beneficial in more ways than one, for it was only some encouragement from one of her music teachers that she began taking her singing more seriously!

Confused

The performing arts is largely based on audience expectations. We saw the performance last evening and I was a bit confused as to Diana Krall's interactions with the audience. Was she shy or "out of it" or just an extremely talented musician into her creative sphere? The music was more improvisational jazz than what I and seemingly most people were expecting. But as Joni Mitchell famously said they didn't ask Van Gogh to paint Starry Night over and over again. Perhaps it should be advertised more by her as an evening of improvisational jazz with her trio based on standards that she has recorded to alert audiences where to set their expectations. Overall a wonderful evening of jazz. ... Read more

St. George Theater in Staten Island

It was a treat to finally get to see Diana Krall perform last night in Staten Island. I had been looking forward for a long time! It was pouring rain outside and amazed to even get there without being a deep sea diver. Inside the theater, which was delightfully opulent, Diana gave a full out opulent performance complete with purring passionate vocals and wonderful twists and turns at the piano. I found her coolness works for her, it was admirable to note the obvious adoration of the people who came out in a hurricane to see her, and even when she was cool in a shy way, it still conveyed her affectionate relationship with the audience and her band members, all of whom were delightful as well! ...
